Freelance Writing and ODesk

If you are looking for freelance writing work but not having a lot of success then it might be worth your while taking a look at ODesk. You can sign up for a writer or provider account, post your profile and your hourly rate and start bidding on jobs.

ODesk guarantees payment for hourly work and although the process of getting the job is a bit more laborious than Get a Freelancer or the like, it is well worth signing up for. I have had 3 assignments from them so far and am waiting on an interview for the fourth. ODesk pays your money straight into your paypal account, they add 10% to whatever your rate is and that is their cost. If the job is a fixed price then the company does not guarantee payment in the same way. I've been quite happy with the way things are dealt with, why not give it a try if you're looking for work?

Get Paid to Write

If you already keep a blog then it might be worth your while checking out Blogitive which pays $5 for a sponsored post. It is also a good idea to try out sites such as Associated Content and Constant Content as you can get paid for your articles.

Bidding Sites

It is well worth taking a look at bidding sites such as Get a Freelancer. Some of the jobs are very low pay but you can get a free account and sometimes there are jobs worth bidding on - the same goes for sites such as Elance and Scriptlance, although Elance now has a requirement for account holders to take the Elance test.
